Jennifer Flippo

Dr. Flippo’s goals for Child Health Strategies include being a healthcare resource for both the child care/early childhood education community and school-aged students and their families.

 She is certified as a Child Care Health Consultant through Healthy Child Care Texas, a state initiative dedicated to providing optimal care for children outside the home. She is also a registered professional trainer through the Texas Trainer Registry.

A nurse practitioner for over 20 years, Dr. Flippo has cared for children in the hospital as well as in the community. She has undergraduate degrees in biology and nursing from Texas A&M University and Texas Woman’s University, respectively. She received a Master of Science in Nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Flippo’s doctoral studies focused on use of appropriate language and motivation techniques in adolescent weight loss conversations. .

Dr. Flippo is certified through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, as well as a Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist. Maintenance of these certifications ensure her continued attention to the changing healthcare needs of children.

As the Texas Nurse Practitioners’ legislative ambassador to State Representative Charlie Geren, Dr. Flippo serves as an advocate for healthcare professionals and their patients in the Texas legislature. She is also active in the Women’s Policy Forum of Tarrant County, which supports a variety of issues that affect women and children locally.

Dr. Flippo still maintains a local part-time clinical practice where she sees children from birth to 18 years, providing well and sick child care. A mom of two grown sons (both survivors of her parenting), she enjoys taking care of her husband, the animals, and her 1970 Airstream on the family farm.
